PORTSMOUTH-The Coast Guard Cutter Tampa arrived home to Portsmouth Friday after nearly two months on drug patrol in the Caribbean Sea.

During the deployment, the crew seized more than 2.5 tons of cocaine, worth $55 million.

USCGC Tampa left Portsmouth on October 17.

Tampa is coming to the end of her service for the Coast Guard, as she and two dozen other medium endurance cutters will eventually be replaced by a new fleet of Offshore Patrol Cutters (OPC).
