Cats in Portsmouth house
PORTSMOUTH - Two cats and one kitten were found dead in a Portsmouth house.
Animal Control officers investigated a complaint on Barney Place on Thursday.
"They found the house littered in feces and a strong odor of cat urine," Det. Jan Clark told WVEC.com.
Six cats were found alive, along with the three dead felines.
City inspectors were notified and went to the home, which has been condemned, Clark added.
No one has been arrested in this animal cruelty investigation.
Two of the cats were taken to the Portsmouth Humane Society. Traps were set for the others, Clark noted.
