PORTSMOUTH -- Three men were killed in a shooting early Friday in Portsmouth. in the 800 block of Lincoln St.

Officers were called to a house in the 800 block of Lincoln Street around 12:40 a.m. after several calls were made about shots fired and several males shot, Det. Jan Westerbeck told WVEC.com.

27 year-old Elijah Marquese Randall of the 1900 block of Maple Avenue, Portsmouth; 28 year-old Marcus Antonio Allen of the 800 block of Lincoln Street and 30 year-old, Marcus Antwann Parker of the 900 block of Nelson Street had been shot.

Detectives say at least one male suspect, armed with a handgun, entered the back door of the residence and started shooting. The three victims were in one room; a fourth person in the Prentis Park home wasn't hurt, police added.

Rob Freeman says he's the stepfather of one of the victims. He says he can't believe this happened and he's in pain over the loss.

Charlene Allen said she's heartbroken because her cousin was one of the victims and that the three men were friends.  She said he lived nearby, was very quiet and never messed with anyone.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
