NORFOLK---Norfolk city officials say the revitalization project in Wards Corner is moving along.

Development Director Chuck Rigney says they have letters of intent, or an actual lease, for all but one small storefront in the old Wards Corner Mall.

He also says, despite rumors, Harris Teeter will anchor the new mall and a lease has already been signed.

"There are some really good tenants that are out for signature," Rigney said. "I believe very shortly we're going to be making some exciting announcements as to some of the other tenants."

Rigney also says five percent of the former businesses will not be returning to the mall. The rest they have either retired, relocated, or will return to the mall.
