NORFOLK—After an extended deployment, the crew of the USS McFaul is back at home for the holidays.
The ship returned to Naval Station Norfolk Sunday.
After 281 days away, sailors couldn’t wait to see their loved ones. "It was a blessing, truly a blessing. After nine months, to get to hold my son again, and just to see my newborn son,” Reco Dempsey said.
There’s another homecoming Monday. The USS Carr returns after a six month deployment. The crew seized nearly 4,300 pounds of cocaine and nearly 5,000 pounds of marijuana during the trip.
