NORFOLK-- Two people were forced out of their apartment after a fire Friday night.

Firefighters received a 911 call just before 8 p.m. They arrived to find smoke coming from the apartment.

The fire was contained to the kitchen and no one was injured.

The Red Cross is on scene to help the two people displaced by the fire.

"Our volunteers are meeting with the family to determine how to best support their needs," said Red Cross Spokesperson, Jonathan McNamara. "We will maintain communication over the coming days to help the family on their path to recovery."
