UPDATE(AP): A July 25 sentencing is set for a man convicted of killing a Norfolk student after a high school football game. A Norfolk Circuit Court jury found 20-year-old Carnell Vaughan guilty yesterday of second-degree murder and use of a firearm.
NORFOLK --The Commonwealth Attorney's office Tuesday withdrew murder charges against a teen accused of killing another teen after a football game in September of last year.
William Earl Moore, Jr. had been charged with 1 count of 2nd Degree Murder and 1 count of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony in the fatal shooting of David White, a Lake Taylor High student, after a Booker T. Washington High School football game.
Carnell Vaughn, 18, remains charged with 1 count of 2nd Degree Murder and 1 count of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony in the fatal shooting.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 1st.
