NORFOLK-- Officials have given the all-clear at the TCC Administration Office after workers were evacuated Wednesday morning due to a possible chemical irritant in the building.

Workers are being allowed to return to the building and neighboring streets are open.

According to TCC spokeswoman Marian Ander-Furen, people on the 5th and 6th floor began smelling something she believes was a chemical irritant.

Ander-Furen says quite a few people had irritated throats and began coughing.

Officials say one woman who fell during the evacuation was taken to the hospital.  Another woman asked to be checked and was taken to Sentara Norfolk General.

Personnel on the scene have not been able to determine the source or location of the irritant.

Firefighters also closed the 100 block of College Place.
