Sinkhole opens up on Botetourt Street in Norfolk; road shut down

NORFOLK -- A portion of Botetourt Street in Norfolk has been shut down after a sinkhole formed Monday afternoon. 

The sinkhole was reported between Pembroke Avenue and Fairfax Avenue around 4:30 p.m., according to city spokesperson Lori Crouch.  

Crews are expected to begin repair work on Tuesday, but it is unclear when the road will reopen.
