NORFOLK -- U.S. Marshals say they captured a sexual predator Wednesday they've been looking for since 2005.
Miguel Santos Flores, who was wanted by Norfolk Police on two charges each of forcible sodomy and indecent liberties against a girl under the age of 13, was arrested Wednesday morning in Wantagh, New York.
Norfolk Circuit Court records show a warrant was issued in October of 2005 and Flores has been on the run since then. Those records also show three of the charges allegedly occurred on Sept. 2, 2003 and one forcible sodomy charge reportedly happened on March 2, 2002.
No information about the incidents was immediately available.
Flores was arrested without incident based on a lead sent by U.S. Marshals Task Force members in Norfolk, said Marshal Robert W. Mathieson.
The task force is made up of law enforcement officers from the U.S. Marshals, Chesapeake Sheriff’s Department, Newport News Police Department, Portsmouth Police Department and Norfolk Police Department.
