NORFOLK -- Emergency concrete pothole repairs are scheduled to resume Monday night after freezing temperatures delayed work over the weekend.

The Virginia Department of Transportation and Curtis Contracting, the company performing the repairs under a nearly $5 million contract, are closely monitoring rain forecast for Tuesday, which may further delay work.

VDOT says repairs will be done weeknights from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on I-264 East from Claiborne Avenue to Broad Creek Bridge.

On Thursday, VDOT says it will release an updated schedule for the weekend, Feb. 22-23.

Highway officials say you should expect delays during the work and suggest you use alternate routes like the High Rise and Jordan bridges to avoid backups.

The Virginia Dept. of Transportation Website has information about potholes, repairs and how to report one that needs to be filled.
