Norfolk man charged with robbing bank in Virginia Beach

2/27 UPDATE: 10:15 a.m.: Vernon Eugene Guinn, 50, of the 900 block of Colley Avenue in Norfolk, was arrested Wednesday night and charged with robbery.

VIRGINIA BEACH -- Police are investigating a Virginia Beach bank robbery Wednesday afternoon. 

Police say a suspect handed a teller at the Bank of America in the 4600 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard a note around 3 p.m.

The suspect fled with cash and was last seen walking on Virginia Beach Blvd. 

The suspect is described as a white male between 55 and 60 years old, salt and pepper hair, around five feet six inches tall and was wearing a green plaid jacket, blue jeans and a tan golf cap.
