UPDATE 6/25: The Norfolk Police Fugitive Unit and US Marshals Task Force arrested 31-year-old Artae K. Bellamy Tuesday in the 2500 block of Leo Street in connection with a shooting on June 4 in the 2400 block of E. Princess Anne Road.
Bellamy is charged with felonious assault and use of a firearm.
He is currently in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
NORFOLK -- A Norfolk school was briefly on lockdown because of a shooting near the school.
At least a dozen officers were at an apartment complex at 2421 E. Princess Anne Road, near Booker T. Washington High School.
Crime scene tape is up around part of the parking lot of Park Terrace apartments, which is operated by Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
Some residents say they heard gunshots after 11:30 a.m..
The lockdown at Booker T. was over by 12:30 p.m., Norfolk Public Schools spokeswoman Karen Tanner told WVEC.com.
"The school went on the lockdown as a precautionary procedure. The students are in classes at this time," she said.
There was no information about the victim's condition except that he was in surgery or suspects.
