NORFOLK - A woman is facing new child sex charges, this time in Norfolk.

22-year-old Patience Perez of Norfolk was charged last week with having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old student at Renaissance Academy in Va. Beach - away from the school where she worked as security assistant.

Norfolk Police say from she had inappropriate contact with the teen in Norfolk on February 1. She was arrested March 12 on charges of indecent liberties with a child by custodian, solicitation and conspiracy to commit a felony and use of electronic means for child sex crime or porn.

Authorities didn't release further information about the incident, but Officer Chris Amos said Norfolk's case is separate from the Va. Beach investigation.

Perez remains in custody following her arraignment Wednesday in Norfolk Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. She's due in court again on March 27 for counsel determination and has a preliminary hearing set for April 10, Commonwealth's Attorney spokeswoman Amanda Howie told WVEC.com.
