UPDATE 3:16 p.m.:  Police have identified the suspect as 26-year-old Dion Anthony Taylor of the 6400 block of Stoney Point South.  Taylor has been charged with one count of robbery.

NORFOLK-A man who stole money from a woman in a bank parking lot was found hiding in a plastic playhouse on the playground of a Norfolk school, police said Tuesday.

The search put St. Pius X, located on Halprin Drive, on lockdown for more than an hour and it was the same situation at Larrymore Elementary School.

Police were called to the BB&T in the 2200 block of E. Little Creek Road around 9:30 a.m. A woman in the parking lot was approached by a man who stole her money, said Officer Chris Amos.

The man ran off in the direction of St. Pius, so a lockdown was put in place as a precaution.

Officers searched the area and found him hiding on the St. Pius X playground, Amos stated.

The man didn't have a weapon and no one was hurt.

Norfolk Public Schools told WVEC.com that parents were being informed about the situation by reverse phone call.
