NORFOLK- Police called out a bomb squad Friday night after originally going to a home to serve a warrrant.
According to Captain Mike Hicks of the Norfolk Fire Department, police were serving the warrant to a house on Elk Avenue when they noticed a number of wired items in the home. The house was the residence of a man who had just gotten out of the service.
A bomb squad along with officers from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms. were called in and the house was determined to be safe.
The incident is still under investigation by federal authorities.
