Vigil held for man shot to death in Norfolk

NORFOLK--A vigil was held Wednesday night at the scene where a man was shot to death Tuesday.

About 100 people including family and close friends gathered to say goodbye to Gilbert Johnson

Johnson, 37,  of Va. Beach was found on the street in the 400 block of Chapel Street around 7:30 p.m.

Police say Johnson was walking with his daughter when he was approached by the two men who shot him.

Police canvassed the area and talked with people in the neighborhood as they searched for the killers.

On Wednesday, police described the men as black, in their late 20s and early 30s. One was heavy set and had on a white t-shirt and dark colored pants. The second man was described as being tall, thin and wearing dark colored pants.

A vigil is being held for Johnson Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
