NORFOLK - People in one Norfolk neighborhood say basketball courts are to blame for late night mischief.

There's a controversial plan to take hoops down at a court near Mary Calcott Elementary after the civic league fielded complaints from neighbors.

Greg Younkins says early morning basketball, cursing and drinking are just a few of the problems.

"Sometimes they're out there until 2 a.m. You'll wake up and hear the ball bouncing," he said.

13News has learned there is word that civic leagues across the city have their eyes on ten other courts around town. The names and locations of these courts are unknown at this time.

It's up to the civic league to make the official request to take the hoops down.

Northside Civic League will vote on the Mary Calcott School court in June.
