NORFOLK -- Falling debris during a house fire hit a firefighter and sent him to the hospital to be treated.

Battalion Chief Julian Williamson described the firefighter's injury as "minor" and said the firefighter had been released from the hospital by early Sunday morning.

Crews got a call about the fire in the 600 block of 27th Street at about 9:20 p.m. Saturday.

They had it under control by 10:30 p.m.

No one else was hurt during the course of the fire.
