NORFOLK-- Fire crews, police and the Coast Guard were called to search for a person who went missing in the Lafayette River early Sunday morning.

Around 4 a.m., fire officials say a male and female jumped from the Granby Street Bridge.  The 17-year-old female resurfaced, but the man did not.

Police confirm that around 8:45 a.m., the body of 21-year-old Joseph Patrick Callahan was recovered.

No word on why the people may have jumped from the bridge.

The incident is being investigated as an undetermined death until medical examiner reports are completed.
