NORFOLK-- Granby Street, which runs from the heart of Norfolk to Oceanview, has seen its highs and lows but city leaders continue to work to attract businesses.
Friday was opening day for Loja Leblon at 258 Granby Street. The newest retailer sells women’s and men’s swimwear and intimate clothing designed and manufactured in Brazil.
Owner Matthew Tompulis says he decided to open on Granby Street to help the local economy, which in turn would help the global economy.
"It's always a gamble, but worth the risk. There's no risk, there's no reward is the way I look at it," said Tompulis.
This is the retailer's first location in the United States and it opened today in conjunction with the first 2013 Granby Street Experience.
