NORFOLK -- A suspected meth lab is under investigation in Norfolk and has officers dressed in hazmat suits.

Authorities were called to a home in the 8800 block of Plymouth Street, off Chesapeake Blvd. near E. Bayview Blvd., just after midnight.

13News Now saw officers wearing orange hazmat suits working at a table set up in the front yard; several fire engines were on the scene as well.

A woman told 13News Now photographer Jason Walsh that she and her mother got into an argument late Sunday and then she called the police because some people in the home were cooking meth.

Norfolk Police Narcotics Detectives, Norfolk Fire Rescue, DEA, and VA State Police responded to the location.

An adult female was detained at the scene, but she has not been arrested, said Officer Daniel Hudson.
