NORFOLK -- A memorial service honoring the three sailors who died when their helicopter crashed off Virginia Beach last week was held Friday at Naval Station Norfolk.

39-year-old Lt. Sean Christopher Snyder of Santee, California, 29-year-old  Lt. J. Wesley Van Dorn of Greensboro, N.C. and 25-year-old Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 3rd Class Brian Andrew Collins of Truckee, Calififornia died when their MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter crashed during routine mine countermeasure training, the Navy said.

Collins and Van Dorn died at the hospital; Snyder's remains were recovered on Tuesday.

Two other crewmembers of Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 14 survived the crash, which occurred 18 nautical miles off Cape Henry.
