NORFOLK -- A man hit by an SUV Wednesday morning near Norfolk State University has died.

Police say 60-year-old Ronald James Kroeger was struck around 8:20 a.m. at E. Brambleton Avenue and Park Avenue.

According to investigators, the SUV was turning left from Park onto Brambleton Avenue when it struck Kroeger. Police say he was not in a marked crosswalk.

Police say the driver did stop.

Police blocked the I-264 west offramp at Campostella Road and Brambleton Ave. and officers rerouted traffic for several hours.
