NORFOLK -- One night, Jake Clemons is playing with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and the next night, he's performing to a benefit concert in Norfolk.
That concert for Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation is April 13, right after he plays with "The Boss" at the Farm Bureau Live in Va. Beach.
"The NARO has long been a staple for entertainment in our community, as the Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation will prove to be for our neighbors who struggle to read,” Clemons said. “After playing on stages all over the world, I'm excited to come home in support of an important local non-profit organization that I believe in by bringing my band and our live show back to my hometown," he said.
Clemons performs with his own band when not on tour with the E Street Band.
The Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation is a 501c3 local nonprofit agency dedicated to teaching reading to children and adults in with dyslexia and other serious reading problems. SDF's mission includes raising awareness in Hampton Roads about dyslexia, how to identify it and remediate it.
Clemons is a member of the Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation's Board of Directors.
All proceeds will be donated directly to the Foundation to help struggling readers in Hampton Roads.
