NORFOLK-- In Hampton Roads, existing home sales are up for the third straight month.
According to September numbers from the Real Estate Information Network, local home prices are also up 8.2 percent over last year. More than 1000 existing homes sold in Hampton Roads in September.
Home-a-Rama can vouch for the figures. Eight of the nine of their new homes are already sold.
"I've talked to a good friend today who owns a lumber company and he is up 9 percent from last year. So I mean the bottom line is the economy will turn around when housing turns around," said Sam Cohen, President of the Tidewater Builders Association.
