NORFOLK-The grand jury will hear evidence later this month in the case of a City of Norfolk employee accused of sexually abusing three boys.

54-year-old Jay Burton, who worked as a supervisor at the Titustown Rec Center, allegedly abused the children at his home.

His preliminary hearing Wednesday was closed to the media, but Commonwealth's Attorney spokeswoman Amanda Howie said six felony charges were certified to the grand jury -- two counts each of Forcible Sodomy, Aggravated Sexual Battery and Indecent Liberties Custodial.

Howie added that Burton remains in custody.

City spokeswoman Lori Crouch said Burton has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.
