NORFOLK - The Norfolk Department of Public Health has a limited supply of Shingles vaccine (Zostavax) at no cost on a first come, first serve basis.
Shingles is a painful skin rash, often with blisters. It is also called Herpes Zoster or Zoster.
To qualify, you must be at least 60 years old and have no or low insurance coverage your insurance company does not cover vaccines).
Health Department officials say a single dose of the vaccine for persons 60 years and older.
The vaccine is available through June 21 at two Health Department locations. Officials stress you should call ahead to make sure there is vaccine available because of a limited supply.
