VIRGINIA BEACH -- The former owner of the Guadalajara restaurant chain, has been missing for nearly a month, police told 13News Now on Friday.

According to Virginia Beach Police spokeswoman Tonya Borman, 36-year-old Genaro "Jerry" Rodriguez was last seen Oct. 10.  Foul play is not suspected.

Near the time he went missing, Virginia Beach police filed three misdemeanor warrants for his arrest on charges of failing to pay meal taxes, Borman said.

Rodriguez  previously owned six Guadalajara restaurants in Virginia Beach and Norfolk.  The restaurant at Town Center recently closed following a nearby fatal shooting nearby.

According to the Virginian Pilot, court records also show that Rodriguez owes nearly $1 million to the Internal Revenue Service.

The Pilot also reportes that Rodriquez was arrested in February for his third drunken driving charge in the past seven years. His trial is scheduled for Dec. 23 in that case.
