NORFOLK --Police are investigating a shooting that sent five people to the hospital late Saturday night.

Around 11:30 p.m. officers were alerted to a shooting in the 7800 block of San Antonio Boulevard. A single gun shot victim was discovered and transported to DePaul Hospital. His injuries were considered non-life threatening.

Detectives discovered that around the same time four additional victims arrived at the same hospital in private vehicles.

It was determined that all five gunshot victims were involved in the same incident near San Antonio Blvd.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that two of the victims were also suspects in an attempted home invasion robbery. Detectives say the attempted robbery led to the shooting.

Trenton Ore and Joven Covington have been charged with robbery, malicious wounding, use of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Covington remains hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.
