WILLIAMSBURG - The College of William and Mary will hold a campus forum Wednesday about the possible partnership with Eastern Virginia Medical School.
In a message to campus, Provost Michael Halleran said the College wants to hear more from faculty, staff and students.
In July, officials agreed to explore whether it makes sense to have EVMS become the William and Mary School of Medicine. W&M created a steering committee to analyze the upside and downside of such an affiliation.
W&M President Taylor Reveley said many graduates went on to medical school at EVMS and cited productive research collaboration between the two schools as reasons to explore the possibility.
If the schools decide to proceed, it would require the approval of the General Assembly and the governor.
The forum is November 14 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sadler Center.
Those who can’t attend should feel free to add their comments to the steering committee’s website.
