Block party in Norfolk tonight kicks off St. Patrick's celebrations

NORFOLK - There's a big party tonight in Norfolk's Ghent - the 19th annual "Shamrockin' in Ghent" block party to benefit Hope House Foundation.

It's from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Colley Avenue between Shirley and Gates avenues. The free party includes music by The Newport News Police Pipes and Drums, Glasgow Kiss, and winners of Veer Magazine’s 2012 Local Music Award for Best Cover Band: The Deloreans.

There will be selling all kinds of drinks and Belmont House of Smoke Belmont House of Smoke will have food for sale.

Hope House Foundation is a local non-profit and is the only organization in Virginia that supports adults with developmental disabilities exclusively in their own homes.
