NORFOLK - First Fridays on Granby
Guava Jam performs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in downtown. The group plays a variety of music from the 70s to current, rock, country, adult contemporary and dance. Formed in 2009 by VA Senator Jeff McWaters (percussion), U.S. Representative Scott Rigell (drums-currently on leave from the band) and Entrepreneur Matt Breitenberg (bass & rhythm electric guitar), the band originally donated their time and talents by playing for several local benefits.
NORFOLK-Food Trucks at the Hermitage Museum
Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. will be filled with live music, community art projects, and everyone's favorite on-the-go eats. Food Trucks Fostering Change supports the Barry Robinson Center, a behavioral health system for youth.

NORFOLK-Open Build Night
Friday, August 2, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at 757 Makerspace, 421 W. 22nd Street
Interested in writing, art-making, engineering, designing, tinkering, or all of the above? 757 Makerspace invites all you creative spirits out there to bring your projects over this Friday for an evening of discussion and sharing works. This social event is free and open to the public (kids included!)
This is the first Open Build Night, which will be held on the first Friday evening of every month.
NEWPORT NEWS-Les Miserables at Peninsula Community Theatre
This weekend marks the Peninsula Community Theatre's kickoff performance of Boublil and Schonberg's classic musical Les Misérables, Victor Hugo's timeless story of love, honor, and revolution.
If you don't make it this weekend, don't fret: the production is running through August 24th.
Tickets are $18 for adults, $17 for students, seniors and military, and $7 for children.
