NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — The Virginia Zoo is seeking help with an annual Halloween event for children.

Volunteers and vendors are being sought for Zoo Boo, which is designed to give kids a safe environment for trick or treating.

The annual event is set for Oct. 26 at the zoo in Norfolk. The activities include costume contests, hayrides and animals smashing pumpkins.

The Virginian-Pilot (http://bit.ly/175VYud) reports businesses are needed to serve as hosts for treat stations, while volunteers are needed to help with activities. Treat Station sponsorships are $100 and help pay for the event.
