Car stolen from Virginia Beach pulled from water in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS -- A car stolen from Virginia Beach was pulled from the water in Newport News Thursday morning.

Newport News Police were called around 6:18 a.m. to Peterson's Yacht Basin at 16th Street and Oak Avenue.

The fire department's dive team didn't find anyone inside the red Dodge Charger, said police dept. spokeswoman Holly McPherson, and the trunk was also empty.

Va. Beach Police told WVEC.com the Charger and another car were stolen from the Auto King dealership between 8:30 a.m. Monday and 7 p.m. Tuesday.   The Honda was recovered in Hampton.
