NEWPORT NEWS -- Police say two women went on a shopping spree with stolen credit cards.

This image from a surveillance camera shows the women leaving Target on Jefferson Avenue about an hour after the cards were stolen from a woman at Trader Joes.

It happened February 3 and the target was a 68-year-old woman, said police spokesman Harold Eley.

"She was approached by a middle-aged African-American woman who got into a conversation about ingredients in some food. When the conversation ended, she went to pay for her items and her wallet was gone," he explained.

By 4:30 p.m., two women had bought thousands of dollars worth of merchandise at Best Buy and Target, both in the 12000 block of Jefferson Ave.

If you can help identify the women or have information about the case, call Detective L. Gaddis at 928-4215 or Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
