Teens face charges following three attempted home invasions in Newport News

Marcus Sedgwick has been charged with attempted burglary, burglary, attempted grand larceny, petit larceny, conspiracy to commit a felony, and six counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

NEWPORT NEWS -- Three teens have been arrested after they allegedly tried to break into three homes in Newport News in May.

According to police, Marcus Sedgwick and two juveniles -- ages 13 and 15 -- took a bicycle from the Colonial Courts Hotel in the 10400 block of Jefferson Avenue on May 22 and then attempted to break into three residences on nearby Beech Drive and Hemlock Road.

Sedgwick has been charged with attempted burglary, burglary, attempted grand larceny, petit larceny, conspiracy to commit a felony, and six counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Similar charges are pending for the two juveniles.

Sedgwick also has warrants for misdemeanor assault and damage to property for an incident on June 10.
