NEWPORT NEWS--The Virginia Lottery says a convenience store worker is accused of short-changing a man with a winning ticket and pocketed the prize.

Spokesman John Hagerty says Susan Perez gave the man $40 for a Mega Millions ticket in March. In fact, the ticket was worth $600.

The man thought it was worth more and complained to lottery officials, who investigated what went on in the Ivy Farms Shell station.

Hagerty says Perez turned around and cashed the ticket, which is a felony.
