NEWPORT NEWS -- Investigators are searching for suspects after a man was shot early Sunday morning.

A police department spokesperson confirms that emergency dispatchers got a call a call about a shooting just before 6:30 a.m.

When officers arrived in the 1800 block of Ivy Avenue, they located a man who had been shot in the foot and buttock.

The 19-year-old victim, from Newport News, was taken to an area hospital with injuries considered non-life threatening.

His name has not been released.

Witnesses told police that a vehicle, with possible four people inside, drove by the victim. One of the occupants opened fire on the fire.

No other details about possible suspects or a motive have been released.
