NEWPORT NEWS --  Manuel Vazquez is grieving the loss of his 2-year old son Angel.

Police say last Wednesday,  his son unlocked the gate on their Wickham Avenue porch and ran into the street. That's when a driver in an SUV hit the child; Angel died the following the night.

“You don't have no words to describe the pain that's so deep,” Vazquez said.

The father told 13News Now he wonders why the driver of the SUV couldn’t see his son and why the driver stopped several yards after the impact.

Angel has several siblings including Bryan, his identical twin brother. Vazquez says he saw his brother get hit by the SUV and constantly asks for him to come home.
