NEWPORT NEWS-Police believe a man killed in a crash in Newport News on Sunday had a medical emergency.

50-year-old Charles Bell of Hampton hit the median on Jefferson Avenue near J. Clyde Morris around 6:30 a.m. July 21, crossed several lanes and hit the steel-and-concrete poles in the Tire City parking lot. The impact caused his car to roll over.

Bell, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene, police said.
