NEWPORT NEWS-- A man has minor injuries after a shooting Sunday afternoon.

Police responded to a call at about 2:50 p.m. of shots fired in the 800 block of 35th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered an 18-year-old man had suffered a small gunshot wound.

The victim told police he was walking alone on Marshall Avenue when he was approached by another man on a black mountain bike. The man looked at the victim several times before firing two shots with a handgun.

One bullet caused a very minor skin abrasion to the victim's leg, and he did not require any medical attention. He was not hit by the second bullet.

Police are still looking for the suspect. Anyone with information can call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
