NEWPORT NEWS - Police say a man was struck by a car and killed as he crossed the street in Newport News.
MPO Lou Thurston says 38-year-old Allen Christopher Cutler Thomas Jr. was running across J. Clyde Morris Blvd. around 11:15 a.m. and had nearly made it across when a car in the far right lane struck him. The driver of the Chrysler 300 stopped.
Medics pronounced Thomas dead at the scene, Thurston stated.
The crash remains under investigation.
