Man jumps through window to escape robbers in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS - A man jumped through the window of his apartment to get away from two men trying to rob him.  

It happened around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Huntington on the James apartments on River Road.

Police say the 59-year-old saw two men leave the laundry room of the complex wearing ski masks. They got to him, pulled a gun and demanded money. One of the robbers punched him to get him to cooperate.

When the man broke the glass to get out, the two men ran off. A neighbor reported seeing two people run from the buidling.

#1: About 6` tall, thin
