NEWPORT NEWS-Police are looking for the man who assaulted a moped rider and then took the bike.

A man named "Greg" approached the victim around 5:00 p.m. on June 26 and demanded the money he was owned, police stated.

When the rider said he didn't know him any money, "Greg" punched and kicked him, stole the moped and drove off from 27th Street and Marshall Avenue.

“Greg” is described as black, in his early 20s, tall and slim and is known to frequent the 800 block of 22nd Street. He may be on the stolen yellow scooter/moped with Virginia registration 7033862.
