NEWPORT NEWS - The front glass doors were smashed at three businesses - two in the same shopping center - early Thursday.

Police say a piece of concrete was used to get inside Grace and Truth Fellowship Church in the Sherwood Shopping Center on Warwick Blvd. Once inside, the suspect(s) took only a candle, which was then used to break the glass at the New Chinese Buffet. Several hundred dollars was taken from the restaurant.

A piece of concrete was used to break the glass at Jing Jing Asian Restaurant at 562 Denbigh Blvd., but police say those responsible didn't get inside. They don't know whether the incident is connected to the other two.
