NEWPORT NEWS-- Five people were arrested following an Internet prostitution bust in Newport News Friday.

Police say the operation targeted prostitutes through a website.  

Once a connection was made, an undercover male officer made arrangements to meet the suspected prostitute at a specific location.

Police say they are not releasing the location of the arrests or the name of the website involved so that future operations are not jeopardized.

The following people were arrested during the bust:

April Renee Harris, 31, of the 400 block of Walnut Street in Hampton
Charged with prostitution, false information to police and possession of cocaine
Harris also had outstanding warrants for contempt of court and failure to appear

James Edward Merritt, 56, of the 3500 block of Buckingham Street in Norfolk
Charged with using a vehicle to promote prostitution

Sheri Jean Kilgore-Nelson, 47, of the first block of Pioneer Way in Hampton
Charged with possession of cocaine

Jennifer C. Okene, 24, of the 500 block of Bellwood Road in Newport News
Charged with prostitution and using a vehicle to promote prostitution

Crystal Pagan, 26, of the 1000 block of Rugby Street in Norfolk
Charged with two counts of prostitution
