NEWPORT NEWS -- Investigators are looking into what caused an overnight fire at a storage facility on Jefferson Avenue.
Assistant Fire Chief James Barrick says crews were called to the Public Storage Facility at 11887 Jefferson Avenue around 12:39 a.m. on Sunday.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered several units were on fire.
Barrick advises that due to weather and other conditions, several other fire units were called to assist in controlling the flames. Crews were on scene for nearly five hours.
30 units were involved in the fire and 19 of those units were damaged. The cause remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
