NEWPORT NEWS -- One driver was charged with reckless driving after a three vehicle accident on the James River Bridge on Sunday.

Virginia State Police advised that around 10:00 a.m. a 2013 Jeep SUV was traveling south on the JRB when it stopped for a bridge lift and sparked a chain reaction.

The crash closed off the southbound lanes and traffic was turned around on the bridge.

According to State Police there were injuries, but the victims conditions were not released.

Ryan Everett, of Carrollton, has been charged with reckless driving.
