Police ID man shot at boarding house in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS - Police are looking for the person who shot a man at a boarding house in Newport News.

22-year-old Raymond Isaiah Seawright was found around 12:30 a.m. in the hallway of the house at 2134 Chestnut Avenue.  He died at the hospital about an hour later.

There also were officers nearby on Terminal Avenue who heard the gunshots and rushed to the scene. Officers were questioning people there about what happened.

Police say Seawright lived on 27th Street.   

A relative tried to run under the crime tape and into the house during the investigation, according to police, and had to be subdued. He's faces charges including being drunk in public.
